Approximately 297 cases of the BA.2 strain of coronavirus have been discovered in Israel so far, head of Public Health Services in the Health Ministry Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis announced Wednesday morning (February 2, 2022).

Throughout the past day, 60,329 people have tested positive for the novel coronavirus in Israel out of 230,715 people tested.

A record 1,085 people with COVID-19 are considered to be in serious condition, with 260 people on respirators.

Of the 8,926 people who have so far died from coronavirus in Israel, 122 were from the past day (February 1, 2022).
